Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what an advisor needs to call you back, we send it to one licensed advisor, and we do not sell it.

Who we are

This site is operated by Direct Healthcare Choice (“we”, “us”), an independent, privately operated insurance brokerage doing business as Direct Healthcare Choice at directhealthcarechoice.com. We are not a government agency and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicare, Medicaid, or any federal or state program.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you complete the coverage review on this site, we collect only the following: your state, how many people in your household need coverage, whether anyone in the household has a major pre-existing condition (a yes or no — never any diagnosis, medication or detail), when you are looking for coverage, and your first name, last name, phone number and email address.

We never ask for, and you should never send us, a Social Security number, date of birth, income figure, bank or card details, or medical records through this website. If a page or message claiming to be us asks for any of those, it is not us.

Information collected automatically

When you submit the form we also record the page you submitted from, the referring URL, the marketing parameters in your link if any (such as source, medium, campaign, and ad platform click identifiers), your browser user agent, your IP address, and timestamps. This tells us which of our own pages and ads actually help people, and it lets us block automated spam submissions.

Why we collect it

  • To have one licensed advisor review your situation and contact you about coverage
  • To route your enquiry to an advisor licensed in your state
  • To detect and block automated or fraudulent submissions
  • To measure which pages and campaigns are working
  • To meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed insurance brokerage

Who your information goes to

Your submission goes to one licensed insurance advisor and to the service providers that make that possible — our website host, our database provider, and the workflow tool that delivers the submission to the advisor. Those providers process the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with a bidding pool, lead marketplace, or list of agencies. If you apply for a specific plan, the information needed for that application goes to the insurance carrier you choose — and only then, and only with your agreement.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, such as in response to a lawful request from a regulator or a court.

How we contact you, and how to stop it

By submitting the form you agree that Direct Healthcare Choice and its licensed advisors may contact you by phone, text, or email about health coverage, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply.

You can end contact at any time: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, tell the advisor on the call, or email info@directhealthcarechoice.com. We honour those requests promptly and keep a minimal record of them so we do not contact you again by mistake.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses only what it needs to function and to measure traffic in aggregate. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you across other websites. Where an analytics or advertising measurement tool is in use, it is listed here and you can block it with your browser settings or an extension without breaking the site.

How long we keep it

We keep submission records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet the record-keeping rules that apply to licensed insurance brokerages, and then we delete them. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, except for the minimal record needed to honour a do-not-contact request.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front — but you can confirm that and make a request on our Do Not Sell My Info page.

To make a request, email info@directhealthcarechoice.com from the address you gave us, or tell us the phone number you submitted. We may need to verify who you are before we act, which protects you as much as us.

Security

Submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored with access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise — but we do not store payment details or government identifiers anywhere on this site, which removes the most damaging categories of data from the equation entirely.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Coverage for children is handled through the household applicant, an adult.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use or share your information will be described here rather than made quietly.
